“Being Born Again”

John 3:1-

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; but no one can do these signs that you do unless ‘God is with him.”

Jesus answered and said unto him,

“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Here are some scriptures on being born again.

1st John 3-9

Whoever has been  born of God does not  sin for His seed remains in him; and he can not sin, because he has been born of God.

1st John 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone that  loves is born of God and knows God.

1st John 2:29

If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

1st John 5:1,4-5

1) Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.

4-5) For whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith, who is he that overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

1st John 5:18

We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God,  keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

To be born again is a new beginning in a person’s relationship with God.

It goes from being spiritually dead to spiritually alive through Christ Jesus.

It’s a process that originates with God.

It’s a result of God’s Spirit working in a person’s life, and it’s a result of Jesus Christ dying on the cross for our sins and conquering death through his resurrection.

New birth or being born again means that  eternal life has now been offered to the person who believes.

Ephesians 2:1

“And you, He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sin.

In Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Sinners are spiritually dead, but when they receive spiritual life through faith in Jesus Christ, the Bible likens it to a rebirth.

Jesus stressed to Nicodemus that one must be born again to enter the kingdom of God.

Being born once makes us children of Adam’s corruption.

So we need that second birth-that spiritual birth-to make us children of our living God.

You may ask how does new birth come to be?

The Bible tells us in-

Ephesians 2:8-9

That it is by grace we have been saved, through faith, and not of ourselves.

It is the gift of God, not by our works, that so no one can boast.

So when we are saved, then we are born again, spiritually renewed, and now a child of God through that new birth.

Jesus took upon himself the penalty for our sins when he died on that cross.

Providing the way for us to be born again.

2nd Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

John 1:12-13

“But as many as received Him, to them, He gave the right to become children of God,  to those who believe in His name:

who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Are you reborn? Born again?

If you have never trusted in our Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, will you consider now the prompting of the Holy Spirit as these words speak to your heart.

God loves you ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

I come before You today and lift up my family and friends. Thank You for the joy each one of them brings to my life.

Father, cleanse each one of us from all unrighteousness in our lives today and create in us a new heart.

Help us to walk in obedience to Your word and guide our steps in Your righteousness.

May we rely solely on Your grace and mercy as we face each day.

Strengthen us with Your power to resist the desires of our flesh.

Help us to forgive those who have wronged us as You have forgiven us.

Father, Your love and holiness remind us of the ways we have fallen short, and yet Your grace still invites us to draw near to You.

Father, forgive us for all the times we have strayed and for our words and actions that did not reflect Your goodness.

May our life from today forward be a testament to Your mercy, and may we may extend grace to others as You have so generously poured out on us.

Father, fill us with Your love and Your peace and guard our hearts and minds.

Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and never turning away from our contrite hearts.

In Your Sons’ precious name. Amen

Have a blessed day 🙏

God loves you ❤️

and so do I ❤️
